Ramsay QB Kameron Keenan garnering attention of D1 programs

Kameron Keenan

Kameron Keenan has earned two D1 offers after leading the Ramsay Rams to a class 5A State Championship.

Keenan is currently a sophomore at Ramsay in Birmingham, Alabama. He is the younger brother of former four-star and Alabama football redshirt freshman, Tim Keenan III.

Marshall recently became the first program to offer Keenan.

“It was really surreal because it was unexpected,” Keenan said. “I had no communication with any Marshall coaches. They said they offered me because they saw a lot of potential in me. Their coach said he was really impressed, considering I am so young, and I am only 15.”

Alabama State became the first HBCU program to offer Keenan Friday. Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Alabama are among the programs that have shown interest in Keenan.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder threw for 1,820 yards and 17 touchdowns while only throwing six interceptions during the 2022 football season. He also ran in two scores. Keenan said he feels his pocket awareness is among his biggest strengths.

“I am able to feel stuff without having to turn my whole head to look at it, just knowing my personnel, knowing where the defense is going, knowing what is about to happen, predetermined stuff in my head,” Keenan said. “I want to improve on just knowing what the defense is doing on the field, so I can become a better player overall.
