He waited three years behind Will Anderson, but now it is his time to break out.

Alabama’s defense projects to be much better under Kevin Steele after five years with Pete Golding.

People are intrigued to see who starts at both inside linebacker positions and how the secondary will look. Chris Braswell, a former five-star in the 2020 signing class, is ready to destroy quarterbacks as an outside linebacker. He graded out with one diamond in his recruitment process from St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.), per Justin Smith of Touchdown Alabama Magazine. Braswell graded as an “immediate contributor and game changer” by TDA’s Director of Scouting and Recruiting, but he needed to have SEC weight first. Now at 255 pounds, Braswell has the strength to fend off guards and tackles coming at him.

After having four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and six quarterback hurries in 2022, Braswell’s production should increase.

Dallas Turner, Jaheim Oatis, and others up front will draw much attention, allowing Braswell an opportunity to fill his stats and build an NFL Draft stock. Alabama did not affect opposing quarterbacks as much as it wanted to last season. Braswell’s return fuels him with energy to set the dominance back in motion on defense. He looks to show out in the Tide’s first scrimmage of spring practice on Friday.
