Elijah Barnes reported an offer from Alabama football Wednesday.
Barnes is a product of Skyline High School in Texas, and he holds more than 15 D1 offers. He is a 2025 linebacker prospect, who is listed as a four-star recruit on multiple recruiting sites.
Barnes was informed of his offer after Alabama after the Crimson Tide’s wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins visited his high school.
“I was just thankful and blessed,” Barnes told Touchdown Alabama. “It is just another opportunity for me. I was just excited, you know had that happy feeling inside. I had to keep it calm and cool.”
The four-star recruit went on to give his thoughts on the Alabama program.
“I think they are a great program,” said Barnes. “The coaching staff is great. One of the best head coaches in college football coaches there. You can’t go wrong with Alabama, one of the best programs in the country.”
It was relayed to Barnes, Alabama’s coaching staff ‘loved the way’ he plays fast and sideline to sideline at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. Barnes’ leadership as a sophomore was also a factor in him earning an offer from the Tide.
