Former Alabama safety Roman Harper will be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Harper attended Prattville High School in Prattville, Alabama where he played both quarterback and safety. While at the University of Alabama, he was voted Second-Team- All-SEC in 2004 by the coaches and in 2005 he was Playboy Pre-Season All- American, a Thorpe Award Semi-Finalist, and First-Team All-SEC from the coaches. One of his most impressive seasons was his sophomore year in 2003 when he finished the year with 111 tackles, including five games where he had double-digit tackles.

In 2006, Harper was drafted 43rd overall in the second round of the NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. Harper played nine of his 11 NFL seasons with the Saints, his other two years were spent with the Carolina Panthers. Harper was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame back in 2021, and his 640 tackles, 55 forced fumbles, and 11 interceptions could lead him to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton someday in the near future.
