Nick Saban feels this football season has had its ups and downs for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama is 5-1 heading into its homecoming game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Saban assessed the Tide’s football season to this point Wednesday during the SEC coaches teleconference.
“This has been a very enjoyable, challenging year,” Saban said. “Got a different kind of team, they’ve shown great resiliency in terms of how they’ve competed in games. We continue to have a lot of things that we can correct as coaches to try to help us continue to make progress as a team. I want the players to look forward in a positive way.”
Alabama’s defense is ranked No. 19 in the nation in total defense and is giving up 298.5 yards a game. They were huge in the Tide’s win over Texas A&M last Saturday when they kept the Aggies off the board multiple times when they were driving to score.
On the offensive side of the football, Alabama is getting better with each game as Jalen Milroe makes strides as a passer. Unfortunately for the Tide, they have struggled with pre-snap penalties and consistently snapping the football. They finished last Saturday with nine false start penalties.
Alabama will look to continue to show progress when they host Arkansas.
