He is one of the most outspoken players about his Alma mater.
Marquis Maze, a former Alabama wide receiver, helped the Crimson Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a BCS National Championship during Nick Saban’s third season in 2009.

He assisted Saban in restoring the program to prominence and has been watching this team closely.
Maze is watching Saban’s growth process with a young team, but he’s pleased to see all the postseason dreams are ahead of Alabama. After it earned a 34-20 victory over Tennessee, Maze shared on social media what likes the most about this team.
Maze, a native of Birmingham, Ala., is about toughness. He sees it in this group.

Maze is proud of his collegiate program’s ability to win close games.
College football has tough matchups, and Alabama has been in a few this season. It won low-scoring games against Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. The Tide has found ways to win on offense and defense, especially with the defense recording a pivotal score against the Volunteers. We will see if it can keep the momentum going against LSU.
