He arrived at the University of Alabama as a talented five-star in the 2022 signing class, but Jihaad Campbell is preparing to produce an explosive junior season on defense.

The New Jersey native finished 2023 as one of the top tacklers on the team at linebacker. He had 66 total tackles, four tackles for loss, three pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown in 13 games. Campbell assisted the “Let All Naysayers Know” or LANK mentality to a Southeastern Conference Championship and College Football Playoff appearance. He chose to remain with the Crimson Tide, regardless of Nick Saban decision to retire from coaching.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder knows it is his time to create value for himself for next year’s NFL Draft.

He has started his offseason training with Coach Jay of KBH Fitness.

Campbell has worked on his closing speed, footwork, lateral quickness, agility, and coverage skills. He also wants to finish plays on quarterbacks when coming on a blitz. Campbell may be a preseason candidate for several honors, including the Butkus Award.
