The new Alabama football staff under Kalen DeBoer have built some recruiting momentum early in the DeBoer era, but have they done enough for DeBoer to be seen as an elite recruiter in the highly-competitive SEC?
The definitive answer will come next December when it is time for high school prospects to put pen to paper and actually officially sign to the school of their choice. However, DeBoer looks to be well on his way to be recognized as a top recruiter in the SEC based on some of the early success he has enjoyed on the recruiting front, but like every other high-profile college football coach, you are only as good of a recruiter as your staff is.
The biggest discovery of the early DeBoer era in Tuscaloosa when it comes to the recruiting front looks to be how complete the new Alabama staff is on the recruiting front. Alabama may have some rising recruiting stars on their staff to go along with their more established recruiters; Robert Gillespie, Freddie Roach and Chris Kapilovic.
Maurice Linguist and JaMarcus Shephard lead this new group with Christian Robinson being a sleeper among them.
Linguist has played a role in the Crimson Tide landing verbal commitments from Zymear Smith, Dorian Barney and Jamarrion Gordon. He also helped reel in DaShawn Jones from the transfer portal.
Shephard helped the Tide get Ryan Williams back on board, and the reviews from recruits about have him been glowing.
Robinson will have an opportunity to flex his recruiting muscles this off-season when some of the recruits he is involved with come off the board.
The Crimson Tide currently have a commitment from 10 2025 commits and a pair of 2026 prospects. All signs point to Alabama making major moves this summer.
