Ryan Williams continues to garner attention ahead of his much-anticipated freshman season at Alabama.
The former five-star is set to take part in his first fall camp with the Crimson Tide, which is something that look like it was not going to happen once Nick Saban retired and Williams de-committed from the Crimson Tide.
Kalen DeBoer and his newly hired staff made it a priority to get Williams back on board.
“Right away, we got him back for an official visit after getting down there to see him during that contact period in January,” DeBoer said on SEC Now during SEC Media Days. “Jamarcus Shepherd is our receivers coach, and I think both of them obviously have connected on another level, but being a receiver is special and close to my heart too. I may not look like it anymore, but that is what I did play. Having a chance to connect relationship-wise, those guys have a special connection and just him seeing offense and what it has done and the different ways that he can be successful on an elite level, and it’s just been a great kind of uniting of our people. He has been instrumental. He’s got name recognition, but he’s just got this personality about him that’s contagious and fun to be around. He’s brought other guys in. It’s been something that I think the rest of our team has really appreciated as well.”
Williams is reportedly already turning heads in player-led workouts.
