Alabama football finished its second practice of fall camp Thursday at Thomas Drew Field.
The defensive coaches and defensive players are expected to speak to the media shortly after practice.

After looking at defensive position groups on Wednesday, the focused shifted to wide receivers. Observations were made for tight ends, inside linebackers, defensive linemen, and defensive backs too, but the main focus was on receivers.

Notes from UA’s second practice
-Kadyn Proctor, a sophomore, looks noticeably slimmer up front on the offensive line.
-He grew as the 2023 season progressed during his freshman campaign, but the Iowa native has cut down body fat and looks in shape as an offensive tackle. Alabama is mixing and matching right now with its front line, but Proctor has himself in good position to start again.
-Jaeden Roberts, a veteran offensive guard, was banged up in spring practice. Roberts was on the field for a second straight practice working with his group in fall camp. He is expected to have a monster season in run-blocking and pass protection.
-Alabama’s wide receivers performed several route concepts, including the slug ‘n’ go route.
-Jalen Milroe connected with Kendrick Law on a beautiful in the media viewing period. Milroe put enough air under it, allowing Law to run, make the catch, and score a touchdown. Law was one of three receivers leading a line of players through drills.
-Ryan Williams, a true freshman, made a very nice reception on a deep ball too. Caleb Odom, a five-star freshman, looked very much in control as a receiver in his routes. He brought in a deep ball reception, displaying his range on the field.
-It appeared that Law, Kobe Prentice, and Germie Bernard led the receiver room through position drills.
-The Crimson Tide has a very talented group as Emmanuel Henderson, Rico Scott, Amari Jefferson, and Aeryn “Bubba” Hampton recorded some nice catches on the field.
-Malachi Moore, a fifth-year senior, took all safeties through position work.
-Keon Sabb, DeVonta Smith, Brayson Hubbard, Kameron Howard (transfer from North Carolina at Charlotte), and Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. followed Moore in backpedaling, breaking on the football, and turnover drills.
-Alabama’s rotation at inside linebacker is Deontae Lawson, Jihaad Campbell, Justin Jefferson, Jeremiah Alexander, Sterling Dixon, QB Reese, and Justin Okoronkwo.
-Alabama’s rotation at tight end appeared to be CJ Dippre, Robbie Ouzts, Josh Cuevas (transfer from Washington), Danny Lewis Jr., Ty Lockwood, and Jay Lindsey (freshman).
-LT Overton, a transfer defensive lineman from Texas A&M, did not practice with his group for a second straight day.
-Nothing has been reported about Overton concerning an injury.
