Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football feel they place enough attention on ball security throughout the week at practice.
The Crimson Tide fumbled the football three times in their loss to USF. The Bulls took possession of the football each time with Kendrick Law, Jam Miller and Jalen Milroe losing hold of the football.
DeBoer was asked about ball security following the hard-fought football game Saturday and answered with confidence in what the Tide do to prepare their football players to protect the football.
“Every day, there’s something, but Tuesdays is a big-time priority,” DeBoer said. “We start the week off with that, and there’s other things. We talk about the the ball as the program, and how important it is, taking care of it and also getting it. We won’t have to raise the level of how much we stress it because we stress it significantly. It’s guys just learning that when you make a big play, there’s people behind you. They’re chasing you. They’re coming from all angles, and we gotta do a better job being conscious of that. These guys got out of their game a little bit and got a little loose with it.”
Protecting the football will be paramount for the Tide moving forward.
