We are now starting to hear chirping from former Georgia players ahead of Saturday’s game.
David Pollack continued his piece on the Bulldogs being the “kings of college football,” but another former Bulldog standout appeared on The Bama Standard sizing up the Crimson Tide’s secondary against Georgia’s wide receivers.

Charles Grant, a former Georgia defensive lineman, played from 1998 to 2001. He was a disruptive pass rusher, totaling 136 career tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks in his tenure.
Grant made second-team All-SEC in 2001 and has a Super Bowl ring in 2009 with the New Orleans Saints. He believes Georgia’s wide receivers are ‘more mature’ than Alabama’s defensive backs.
“Our receivers have more experience, so in that category, I think we win that race,” Grant said Tuesday.
“I love our receivers against Alabama’s defensive backs.”
Grant also likes Georgia’s secondary over Alabama’s wide receivers, regardless of the horses the Tide has.
Malaki Starks is an elite playmaker in the Bulldogs’ defensive backfield, but Alabama brings Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, and others to the table. It will be interesting to see matchup to see the Tide’s young, but talented secondary against Georgia’s wide receiver. Excitement should also come with Georgia’s secondary versus Alabama’s weapons.
