Could Alabama football be without a veteran presence at wide receiver this week?

After winning a marquee matchup against Georgia, Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide travels to Nashville (Tenn.) to face the Vanderbilt Commodores. Alabama had a few players that got banged up last week, including Kendrick Law. The junior from Louisiana tried to execute a trick play versus the Bulldogs, but the play did not work and Law came off the field with an injury.

Nothing was released on the details of Law’s injury, yet Kalen DeBoer updated him in Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference ahead of Saturday’s game against Vandy. DeBoer said Law is still ‘day-to-day right now’ in his process to return.

“He’s trying to work through it,” DeBoer said about Law. “He’s trying to do everything he can to get out there. I wouldn’t rule him out, and I wouldn’t say he’s a for sure go right now.”

Law, a former four-star from the Tide’s 2022 recruiting class, has become an exceptional blocker on the perimeter.

He is a versatile playmaker that can be a force with the ball in his hands. Law has not gotten a lot of opportunities through four games, but this week could be a huge moment for him. We will see if he ends up playing versus the Commodores.

Law has two catches for 41 receiving yards and a touchdown.
