Former Alabama player reveals the state of Crimson Tide’s program under Kalen DeBoer

Will McLelland - USA TODAY Sports

Alabama football is a different program under Kalen DeBoer versus Nick Saban.

The Crimson Tide is 5-1 in DeBoer’s first season, but it has areas that need improvement if it wants an opportunity at a Southeastern Conference Championship or make the College Football Playoff. Mike McCoy, a former Tide receiver and 2009 BCS National Champion, is one of the top strength coaches in the state of Alabama. He is founder of Maximum Performance Training in Birmingham (Ala.) and is an advocate of hard work and toughness. McCoy is part of the Touchdown Alabama Magazine team and has a show called, The Coaches Corner with Mike McCoy. He discussed on his most recent episode where the state of the Alabama program is under Coach DeBoer. McCoy likes DeBoer, but he wants to see the Tide return to the level of toughness he witnessed under Saban. Alabama has a rivalry game with Tennessee this weekend that is a must win matchup for the Tide.
