Miami Dolphins’ quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa is on the path to return after suffering a concussion in week two of the NFL season on Monday night football against the Buffalo Bills and being placed on injury reserve.
The National Football League has made efforts to enhance safety measures to decrease the number of head injuries. These measures include the NFL’s recent authorized use of guardian caps during games.
Tagovalioa met with media Monday and was asked if he would wear this safety precaution once he returns to action.
“Nope,” Tagovalioa answered.
The former Alabama quarterback is calling it a personal choice.
“Just got to be smart, that’s it,” Tagovalioa said. “Just got to be smart. My entire time playing football, I’ve been a competitor and that is or was sort of my edge, when I would run from high school to college, I’d do the same thing. But it’s a professional setting, this is the professional level, these are the best of the best, you just can’t be doing that. So, I definitely gotta stay more available for the team, for the organization, for our guys.”
Tagovailoa was designated to return to practice on Monday after missing the Dolphins’ previous four games.
