The No. 15-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the No. 21-ranked Missouri Tigers this weekend inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will see a familiar face across the field on the opposite sideline.
Missouri offensive coordinator Kirby Moore served as an assistant coach on DeBoer’s staff at Fresno State. Moore was the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Bulldogs in 2020 and 2021.
He is aware of the nuances and kinks of a Kalen DeBoer-led offense. While Moore coaches on the offensive side of the ball, he will likely transmit some of his prior knowledge and information to Missouri’s defensive coaching staff.
Despite the fact that DeBoer is not Alabama’s play-caller, he still plays a key role in the offensive gameplan on a weekly basis. In the past three weeks, opponents seem to be finding ways to neutralize Alabama’s offensive attack. Missouri defensive coordinator Corey Batoon has done a good job in his first season with the program. His unit allows under 16 points per game and 273 total yards per game. The Alabama offense averages almost 39 points per game and 429 total yards per game.
It will be an interesting battle between the Crimson Tide offense and Tigers defense in a pivotal week nine matchup for both programs.
