Missouri’s offense could be missing a key piece of its offense this weekend against Alabama.
Missouri wide receiver Mookie Cooper was listed as doubtful on the initial availability report from the SEC. It is unclear what Cooper’s injury is at this time.
Cooper is the Tigers third leading wide receiver this season. In seven games, Cooper has reeled in 12 receptions for 235 yards. His best game of the season came last week against Auburn. The Missouri native had two receptions for 84 yards.
In addition, Cooper averages 19.6 yards per reception. He is the home run threat on Missouri’s offense. If Cooper is unable to play, it should alleviate some of the pressure on Alabama’s secondary. The secondary should be able to place a greater emphasis on defending Missouri’s top two wide receivers — Theo Wease Jr. and Luther Burden III.
