The University of Alabama debuted at No. 11 and was projected to face No. 6-seeded Texas.
Mark Ingram, a Crimson Tide legend, became very excited on social media upon seeing the projection.
The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner and BCS National Champion would love to see a battle between two traditional powers in Alabama and Texas. Kalen DeBoer defeated Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns in the CFP Semifinal round in 2023 to advance to the CFP National Championship Game. It would be his second opportunity versus Sarkisian if the Tide plays Texas in the opening round. Ingram, a College Football analyst for Fox Big Noon, wants the matchup to happen.
He earned his a national championship ring in helping Alabama to a 37-21 victory over the ‘Horns in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game (2009 season) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
As of now we got Texas hosting my Tide in round 1!!! Sheeesh this new playoff format gonna be lit for real!! The odds of it staying that way are slim but it’s exciting for college football to see these potential matchups in the playoff!!

We will see where the Tide finishes out, but a matchup versus Texas to open the CFP would draw massive ratings.
Alabama is focused for now on handling Louisiana State University this weekend.
