Alabama football’s win over Mercer allowed the Crimson Tide to play several back up players, including multiple walk-on athletes.
Jihaad Campbell, a veteran linebacker for the Tide, was happy to talk about the reserve players getting reps on Saturday after the game.
“That’s great,” Campbell said. “Just me going against those scout O linemen and seeing them in the game. That’s one of the precious thing in football. For example, Austin (Mack), he go in there and score and throw a touchdown to Rico Scott, which is also a great play. But you see these guys every day at practice, excuse my language, but they’re busting their ass every day like they don’t care if they’re hurt, they don’t care if they’re injured, but they go out there.”
Alabama’s offensive lineman, Tyler Booker showed his appreciation for his teammates via X.
“Just want to take a moment to shout out all of our walk-ons! They come in every day with a great attitude and give all they have to make us better. We can’t do what we do without them! Love yall boys and we appreciate you guys more than you know!❤️ #rolltide,” Booker posted.
