When one tastes success in anything, it wants more.

Alabama’s defense has tasted success with takeaways in the last five games.

Alabama LB continues to lead by example, improve draft stock

llThe Crimson Tide has forced 15 turnovers since the South Carolina matchup. Kane Wommack is seeing his 4-2-5 “Swarm Defense” not only take the ball away from opponents, but it is creating pressure too. It forced 12 takeaways against four Southeastern Conference school — South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and LSU — and recorded its first touchdown last week versus Mercer on a 66-yard fumble return from Zabien Brown. The true freshman cornerback picked up a forced fumble by DaShawn Jones — a transfer cornerback from Wake Forest — and took it to the end zone in the Tide’s 52-7 dominant win.

Alabama is playing fast, physical, free, and in control on defense.

A veteran linebacker for the Tide assured the media and Alabama fans after the game that more takeaways are coming. Jihaad Campbell, a junior, has been the anchor on defense all season, but his level of performance has increased in the last five games.

The New Jersey native has a team-high 85 tackles, including 48 solo stops. He also has 10 tackles for loss, five sacks, two pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, and an interception.

“We had been banking on that all year,” Campbell said on Alabama’s defense scoring a touchdown.

“It is going to be a lot more coming. Don’t worry, there is definitely a lot more coming.”

Alabama is playing with a fearsome mentality on defense, and Campbell is leading the charge.

He is prepared to continue his dominance with his teammates versus Oklahoma this weekend.
