Indiana football’s head coach Curt Cignetti defended his team’s strength of schedule by going after Alabama.
Cignetti and the Hoosiers are undefeated ahead of a matchup with Ohio State. They are in the College Football Playoff picture but have caught some slack for their strength of schedule.
The Indiana head coach recently fired back at those claims.
“The schedules are set years in advance,” Cignetti said. “Alabama played Mercer. Georgia played Chattanooga. Right? The schedule is what it is. We’ve beaten seven Power Four teams. Every one of those teams had a winning record when we played them, except two were at .500. We beat the defending national champions in Michigan and the runner-up. We’ve beaten all our opponents decisively except for Michigan when we didn’t play well in the second half. We didn’t even trail until two weeks ago. We were down 10-0 at Michigan State in the first quarter and rattled off 47 straight.”
Alabama takes on Oklahoma on the road Saturday as the No. 7 ranked team in the current College Football Playoff ranking.
