While a lot of college football analysts remain skeptical on the Alabama Crimson Tide, one analyst seems to be high on the Crimson Tide.
FOX college football analyst Joel Klatt released his personal top 10 ranking to X on Monday afternoon. The list featured four SEC teams — Texas (No. 2), Georgia (No. 5), Tennessee (No. 6), and Alabama (No. 10). Clearly, Klatt holds the SEC programs in high regard.
Alabama is ranked as the No. 11 team in both the AP Poll and Coaches Poll. In both polls, the Crimson Tide sit one spot behind Boise State. Klatt has to believe that Alabama’s resume is strong considering the fact that he placed them ahead of a Boise State squad that has one blemish to its resume — a three-point loss to Oregon in week two of the season.
Alabama will have to hope that the College Football Playoff committee views them as a playoff-caliber team this Tuesday when the latest College Football Playoff poll is released. The only thing that Alabama fans should be monitoring is where Alabama is ranked in relation to Miami on Tuesday night. If Alabama is ranked higher, their chances of reaching the playoff will increase significantly. If Miami is ranked higher, Alabama’s hopes of reaching the playoff are all but over.
That is the most important thing for fans to be aware of. Klatt evidently holds the Crimson Tide in higher regard than Miami. Will the College Football Playoff committee as well? We will have to wait and see.
