Former Alabama quarterback Dylan Lonergan is heading to the ACC after committing to Boston College on Tuesday evening. Lonergan will reunite with former Nick Saban assistant Bill O’Brien. O’Brien recruited Lonergan coming out of high school and currently serves as Boston College’s head coach.
Lonergan signed with Alabama as a four-star prospect out of Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia. Originally, Lonergan was planning on playing both football and baseball. However, he ultimately chose to stick with playing football and not pursue a college baseball career.
In two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Lonergan played in three games. He completed seven of the eight passes that he threw for a total of 35 yards. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Lonergan was originally scheduled to take a visit to Georgia. It is unclear at this time if the visit ever took place. Nonetheless, Lonergan and Bill O’Brien will coexist to form an interesting duo in the ACC over the next two to three seasons.
