Alabama football looks to continue its trend of recruiting California defensive backs with one of its latest offers going out to Aaryn Washington.
Washington is a sophomore out of Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California. He now holds offers from Alabama, Oregon, Texas A&M and others. The offer from the Tide serves as motivation for the talented young defender.
“This offer means more than just a scholarship,” Washington told Touchdown Alabama. “It is a motive to keep working and that my talents are being recognized by a top school. Alabama has produced defensive backs left and right, so for them to come get me feels amazing.”
Alabama football has a rich history of developing defensive backs. The Crimson Tide’s influence can be seen throughout the NFL on Sunday. This is something Washington has respect for, especially with the amount of defensive backs the Tide has pulled from the West Coast in recent years. It makes his offer from Alabama feel even more special.
“It means that they see the fire in me and my ability to play at the highest level, and I am appreciative of that,” said Washington. “Their DB culture is crazy. So, for them to see me being part of that means a lot.”
Washington stands at 6-foot-1 as a 2027 recruit. He has a long frame with the ability to make plays on the football. Like the other defensive backs the Tide has pulled in from Mater Dei, Washington’s technique in coverage shines through when watching his film.
