Alabama called Carson Beck while he mulled over his future, per report

Alabama football reportedly showed interest in former Georgia now Miami quarterback, Carson Beck, when he was considering his future, per USA Today’s Matt Hayes.

Beck declared for the NFL Draft at the conclusion of the Bulldogs’ season. He backed off those plans and decided to enter the transfer portal.

Hayes revealed a source close to Beck told USA Today Georgia and Alabama showed interest in the quarterback once he decided to come back to college football.

“A person close to Beck’s decision making, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the process, told USA TODAY Sports that not only was Georgia at the front of the line for Beck – who has been eviscerated by Georgia fans on social media since the Bulldogs’ early exit from the College Football Playoff – but SEC heavyweight Alabama was next to call,” Hayes wrote.

Alabama’s starting quarterback Jalen Milroe declared for the NFL Draft earlier this month.

Milroe’s decision has set up a quarterback battle in Tuscaloosa.
