The 2025 NFL Draft is officially 96 days away and CBS analyst, Chris Trapasso has mocked Alabama dual-threat quarterback, Jalen Milroe to the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 overall pick in his latest mock draft.
Trapasso ranks Milroe as the No. 3 quarterback and the 32nd rank prospect overall on his current big board. In two seasons as a starter in Tuscaloosa, Milroe had a rollercoaster go of things.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound quarterback accounted for 45 total passing touchdowns, 6,016 passing yards, 33 rushing touchdowns, 1,577 rushing yards on 357 carries and 20 interceptions.
Traspasso went on to explain his reasoning behind having Milroe as the second overall quarterback taken, just behind Miami Hurricanes QB, Cam Ward, and ahead of Colorado Buffaloes QB, Shedeur Sanders.
“I know this feels way too early for Jalen Milroe, but we’ve had bigger surprises with quarterbacks going higher than expected in the past, and Milroe is destined to erupt at the NFL Scouting Combine,” Traspasso said. “This is all about the long-term upside with the former Alabama passer, and a cheaper bridge quarterback can be signed in the interim. Nevermind Deshaun Waton’s standing on the roster; he’s unlikely to be physically capable of playing in 2025 anyway.”
It will be very intriguing to see where Milroe lands in this April’s NFL Draft.
