Alabama’s coaching staff visited the Lone Star state on Monday to check out some of the top recruiting targets and prospects in the country. One of the prospects that received an offer from Alabama is 2027 four-star quarterback Colton Nussmeier.

He is the son of former Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and the younger brother of LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.

Colton projects to be one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the ‘27 class. He is listed at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds. The southpaw was the starting quarterback at Marcus High School (TX) this past season. He threw for 1,894 yards, 16 touchdowns, and three interceptions.

There will be a long list of suitors in pursuit of the younger Nussemeier. Several programs that have also offered Nussmeier are Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Michigan.

Alabama has only offered one other quarterback in the ‘27 class. That is four-star and Alabama native Trent Seaborn. It will be interesting to see how the Crimson Tide decide to recruit Nussmeier moving forward. He is definitely a prospect to keep a close eye on.
