Houston Texans edge rusher, Will Anderson Jr. is one of the NFL’s most disruptive forces on the gridiron each Sunday but off of it he truly is a nice guy.
Anderson Jr. showed this on Monday evening at a local Academy Sports store in the Houston area when he displayed the spirit of giving, delivering the Wheatley girls’ flag football team with a heartfelt moment they’d never forget.
The 6-foot-4, 2023 rookie of the year teamed up with Academy sports to gift each member of the girls’ flag football team with a $250 gift card that they could shop with within the store. Anderson even worked as a cashier, ringing up each purchase made by the Wheatley team.

Anderson Jr. felt inclined to do this due to his upbringing, growing up in Hampton, Georgia while being the brother of five sisters. The Texans star made this apparent when speaking on this kind gesture to local Houston media outlets.
“Yeah, it’s really cool,” Anderson Jr. said. “Growing up with five sisters, they instilled a lot in me. I got to see them work hard, their work ethic, their mindset, their mentality. And I wouldn’t be here, standing here today without them so to be able to give back to these young ladies. It means a lot. I can’t wait to see them grow their game and the sky’s the limit for them.”
This heartfelt act displayed by the former Alabama defensive end successfully put smiles on the faces of each member of the Wheatley team.
