Former Alabama football wide receiver Marquis Maze recently voiced his opinion on X in regard to Alabama fans using the term ‘LANK’ on social media.
“Bama fans it’s time to let the Lank thing go. Every year each team created their own mission statement. I hope this year team create their own identity but do it to the Bama standard Roll Tide,” Maze added, “Bama by Fiftyyyy.”
The term ‘LANK’ originated during the 2024 season. Former Alabama players Jalen Milroe and Terrion Arnold were discussing the concept of letting people know that Alabama was still the standard and was not going anywhere following a loss to Texas. The two quickly turned it into the team slogan for the season, and it has continued to be a trademark for the Alabama football program ever since.
Maze has not been shy in the past about speaking out on some of the things that Alabama has done under the direction of Kalen DeBoer. This is just another issue that Maze wants resolved among the Alabama faithful. The former Alabama pass catcher feels it is necessary for each team to adapt a new slogan — not continue to use ‘LANK’.
