Former Alabama wide receiver sends well wishes to Hugh Freeze after cancer diagnosis

Former Alabama wide receiver, Marquis Maze is sending his best wishes to Auburn head football coach Hugh Freeze after it was revealed Freeze was diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer.

Freeze enters his third season at Auburn after stints with Ole Miss, Lambuth University, Arkansas State and Liberty. After receiving knowledge of early detection, Freeze met with his Tigers team Friday morning to deliver the news of his diagnosis.

Since learning about Freeze’s condition, Maze put his rival ties aside and took to social media via X to send his condolences to the Auburn head coach during this time.

“As much as I hate Auburn you never want people to go through bad times, Praying for You Hugh Freeze!!!,” Maze posted.

The 55-year-old Auburn coach is now expected to make a full recovery and return to coaching this season with proper treatment.
