Day 1 of NFL free agency began on Monday, March 10th at noon. Thus far, there have been a number of players reaching agreements with other organizations. Two of the signings that were made dealt with former Alabama players.

JK Scott and Bradley Bozeman are both set to return to the Los Angeles Chargers after agreeing on new contracts with the organization. Scott signed a two-year deal worth $6-million dollars to return to the Chargers. The terms of Bozeman’s new deal have not been revealed, but it is a multi-year contract.

Scott began his NFL career in 2018 with the Green Bay Packers. He spent three seasons with the Packers. Prior to the start of the 2021 season, Scott was released in a corresponding move the Packers made to trade for punter Corey Bojorquez.

He spent some time with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 before signing with the Chargers in March of 2022. Since then, Scott has been the team’s starting punter. He will continue to be for at least the next two seasons.

Bozeman has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, and the Chargers since joining the league in 2018. The former Alabama center played for the Ravens from 2018-2021. He made 49 starts with the Ravens before signing a two-year deal with the Panthers in 2022. In two seasons with the Panthers, Bozeman made 28 starts. Then, in 2024, Bozeman signed a one-year deal with the Chargers where he would start in all 17 games.

Now, Bozeman and Scott are set to return to the Chargers. The two are just a few of the many former Alabama players that hit the free agent market on Monday.
