OJ Howard joins in-state college coaching staff

Former Alabama tight end O.J. Howard has been hired as the new director of player development at West Alabama.

Howard will join a coaching staff that is led by former Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran.

Howard, an Alabama native spent four seasons at Alabama. He won a national title with the Crimson Tide in 2015. In addition, Howard was named the Offensive MVP of the game as well.

In seven seasons in the NFL, Howard spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Las Vegas Raiders. He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020.

Howard will be a part of a West Alabama coaching staff that consists of three former Alabama players — Thomas Fletcher, Blake Sims, and Ronnie Clark.
