
Alabama true freshman quarterback, Keelon Russell was presented the 2024 Maxwell National High School Player of the Year award Friday in Atlanta, Georgia at the College Football Hall of Fame.
Russell was recognized by the Maxwell Football Club after leading Duncanville high school to a 13-1 record this past season in Texas UIL division 6A high school football. The two-time state champion quarterback put up masterful numbers during his senior campaign, completing 238 of 343 passes for a completion rate of 66.7% to go along with 4,177 yards, 55 touchdowns, 321 rushing yards and three rushing scores. Russell also earned Elite 11 MVP honors and was named the 2024-25 Gatorade National of the Year in Texas football.
Russell joins former Alabama players Derrick Henry and Bryce Young as the third signee in program history to be presented the annual Maxwell National High School Player of the Year award.
