Alabama football’s wolf linebacker, Jah-Marien Latham is out for the season with a neck injury, per Kalen DeBoer.
“Jah-Marien just with everything, he’ll be out for the season,” DeBoer said on Monday. “And so it’s unfortunate, just love love both (Latham and Qua Russa) of those guys, but Z-Bo, as we refer to him, Jah-Marien… He’ll recover fully, and so that’s the main thing, the big picture of everything, but unfortunately, we won’t have him back this season.”
Latham is in his sixth season with the Crimson Tide. DeBoer confirmed the Tide has not considered a medical redshirt for Latham yet.
The Alabama native went down with an injury last week ahead of the Crimson Tide taking on Georgia.
“During today’s practice session, Jah-Marien Latham sustained a neck injury,” DeBoer said in a statement after Latham went down. “He was transported to UAB St. Vincent’s Hospital for further evaluation and care. We are pleased to report that Jah has full feeling and motion, and he is currently undergoing a thorough medical assessment to determine the next steps in his recovery. Our top priority is Jah’s health and well-being. We are in close contact with his family and the medical team and will continue to support him in every way possible. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.”
Alabama will look to rally as a defense to fill the hole Latham has left.
