Alabama football wide receiver Germie Bernard improved his draft stock with an impressive 40-yard dash time.

Bernard entered the NFL Scouting Combine with the goal of showcasing his speed, and he did. The Las Vegas native clocked in an official time of 4.48 in the forty-yard dash.

“A lot of people doubt my speed, but they gon’ see tomorrow,” Bernard told reporters before performing at the combine.

Speed is not something many correlate with Bernard. He is more known for his dependability and tough playing style. Bernard feels those traits, combined with his versatility, separate him from other receivers.

“I run routes out of the backfield,” Bernard said. “I run routes from the slot, the outside. I can make contested catches. I can make explosive plays. I can create explosive plays just by getting a little bubble screen or something like that and taking it to the house. I feel like my run after catch and the versatility is something that separates me from a lot of the other receivers.”

Bernard has the potential to be an early-round draft pick in April.
