Former Las Vegas Raider and Alabama football wide receiver Henry Ruggs III could be released from prison in late August, per 8 News Now.
Ruggs is currently serving a 3- to 10-year prison sentence for a fatal drunk driving accident that resulted in the death of Tina Tintor and her dog. He pleaded guilty to driving 156 miles per hour while drunk on the night the crash happened in November 2021.
The former professional football player virtually met with the Nevada Parole Board on Monday and expressed that he understood the impact his actions on that night had.
“I know I can never alleviate the pain I have caused,” Ruggs said.
8 News Now reports the board will announce a decision on Ruggs’ future on June 11, and four votes are needed to approve Ruggs’ parole.
