Rising Texas linebacker excited to learn more about the Alabama football after visting, earning offer

Alabama football extended an offer to Raiden Johnson in May and was able to get him on campus for an unofficial visit in June.

Johnson is a member of the 2029 recruiting class, and he attends Allen High School in Texas. He now holds offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas Tech and others. The sophomore respects multiple facets of the Alabama football program and looks forward to learning more about it.

“The offer means a lot to me because Alabama is one of the premier programs in college football,” Johnson told Touchdown Alabama. “They’ve built a championship culture, developed players at a high level and consistently compete for national titles. As a young recruit, it’s an honor to know a program like Alabama believes in my potential. At the same time, I’m staying focused on getting better every day because I know I’ve got a lot more to prove. I’m excited to continue building my relationship with the staff and learning more about the program.”

The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is on pace to be one of the most sought-after linebackers during the 2029 recruiting cycle. It is easy to see why many are excited about his potential, with the way he attacks the football while playing sideline-to-sideline as an off-the-ball linebacker. He also seems really comfortable making tackles in space, which is a valuable asset for every defender playing at the second level and beyond on the defensive side of the football in today’s game. His ability to defend the pass and effectively match up with skill players out wide is another plus for the young prospect.
