Alabama football’s secondary and its linebackers will be tasked with defending tight ends looking to be game-changers this fall.

Here is a list of the top five players at the position the Crimson Tide will face during the 2026 season:

1. Trey’Dez Green – LSU

Green is expected to be one of the best tight ends in college football this fall. The 6-foot-7, 240-pounder is a massive target who has an opportunity to be a dominant receiving threat in Lane Kiffin’s offense. He shone in jump-ball situations for the Tigers in 2025 when LSU threw the ball up and let him go and get it over smaller defenders. The Louisiana native finished last season with 433 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 33 receptions. Fortunately for Alabama, the Tide held Green off the stat sheet last season by holding him to no catches. It will be intriguing to watch how Kiffin uses Green this fall.

2. Willie Rodriguez – Kentucky
