Alabama inside linebacker out for the season

On Monday, Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer spoke to reporters, and DeBoer confirmed that inside linebacker Cayden Jones is out for the season due to injury.

“Cayden [Jones] will not be with us the rest of the season with an injury,” DeBoer said.

Jones has not played in the first three games this season. In 2025, He played in 10 games despite suffering a lower-leg injury against Missouri, and he totaled eight tackles, a quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery.

At inside linebacker, Alabama will continue to roll with Caleb Woodson, Luke Metz, QB Reese, Abduall Sanders Jr. and Xavier Griffin according to Alabama football’s depth chart.

Alabama football will have less depth at inside linebacker heading into this week’s matchup against South Carolina at home. The game will be at 6 p.m. CT, and it will broadcast on ESPN.
