Nick Saban told the media the ultimate reason he allowed ESPN to tell his story as a coach in the ‘SABAN’ docuseries.

The six-part series is available to stream on the ESPN App, and it chronicles Saban’s life, career and philosophy.

The legendary head coach was back in Tuscaloosa on Thursday evening for the Red Carpet Premiere of the series, and he explained why he decided to work with ESPN on the project.

“A lot of things have been written about me,” Saban said. “Most of them, I didn’t really know they were writing, or they really were not approved. We wanted to do this to kind of get it straight for everybody. We wanted to do it visually so all the people that were involved, and helping us be successful, could have some voice in all this. I just hope that there’s something in this that somebody could get out of it, that would inspire them to be a better person, maybe do their work better, maybe have a chance at being more successful.”

The series is filled with iconic moments, including when Saban decided to go with Tua Tagovailoa at halftime in the National Championship game, Saban’s arrival in Tuscaloosa and much more.
