Alabama football stormed back against LSU late and eventually separated from the Tigers en route to a 31-13 win in Baton Rouge.

It was a dogfight between both programs throughout the first three quarters. LSU took a lead over Alabama in the third quarter when Dilin Johnson ran in a touchdown to put the Tigers up 13-10. Kalen DeBoer was asked what his message was to his squad at this moment after the game.

“That it’s still, there’s a lot of football left,” DeBoer said. “And even after that play and after that touchdown, there’s a lot of football left. And so it’s all about just being in the moment and staying focused on the next play. And I think our guys, I mean, we’ve had a number of situations now in the second half where you just stay the course. I think there was times where our D-line, you can see the pass rush continue to put pressure on them. I think there’s just times where you just, you go back to the training you have. The toughness, the resiliency. And as long as your mind can stay in the right spot and you stay focused on the right things, there’s a physicality that I think our team still has and a presence that we get in these SEC games that takes over. The offense in that moment executed exactly what you want that play to look like. And Rico went out and made a play. I think some of it is too. I mean, Rico’s had his game last week, and there’s a confidence in the playmaking that everyone believes in when it comes to him and himself as well.”

Keelon Russell connected with Rico Scott on the drive following LSU taking a 13-10 lead. The play put the Tide in position to regain the lead 17-13 when Russell found a wide-open Josh Ford.

Alabama went on to score 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter as the Tide took over the game late.
