Jalen Milroe has deep admiration for Nick Saban’s career and it is one of the reasons he was excited to receive an offer from the Tide on Thursday.

Milroe is a product of Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas. Alabama joins Texas A&M, Oregon, Florida State and more as teams, who have offered Milroe. The 2021 quarterback has taken notice of every step of Saban’s career and feels the veteran coach has left his mark on every program he has coached at.
“It is truly amazing that he has a legendary background,” Milroe said. “Everywhere he has coached, he has built a legacy there.”
Alabama’s special team’s coach Jeff Banks step into his old backyard of Texas to offer the 2021 prospect. Milroe had contact with the tide before his spring practice started, but did not expect to get an offer. He thought Banks was just calling him to start the preliminary part of his recruitment.
“My initial feeling was I thought I was just going to speak with coach about planning my visit and building a relationship,” Milroe said.
The Tide has continued to show they would love to add quarterbacks, who have the ability to pass as well as run by offering Milroe.
The Texas product can throw on the move and is comfortable in the pocket. He never stands still as he always keeps his feet moving. His natural speed and experience at running track allow him to make plays with his feet when a play breaks down.
His junior season was highlighted by his 1,420 passing yards. He added 609 yards on the ground and scored 20 total touchdowns.
The Crimson Tide’s relationship with Milroe is still in the early stages and Banks along with the rest of Alabama’s staff will take their best shot at Milroe. The 2021 recruiting cycle could be interesting for Alabama at the quarterback position if they strike out in 2020.
An Alabama visit is not set for Milroe, but he wants to come to Tuscaloosa this Summer.
“We have not set up a visit yet, but I am planning on coming this summer, towards the end of June,” Milroe said.
