As fall practice continues, the University of Alabama is showing more features of its new sports science center.
On Thursday, the Cryotherapy room was next to be displayed.
Nick Saban, Jeff Allen and the student-athletes for the Crimson Tide take recovery seriously.
Upon the conclusion of practicing in intense heat, one’s body must be brought back to normal status. In the video, outside linebacker Christopher Allen says: “I practiced like a champion, so I gotta recover like a champion.”

He then proceeds to sit inside the cold tub, which is one of the mechanisms used to calm the body’s temperature. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, players are still doing recovery methods.
Along with the cold tub treatment, Alabama also has the Cryotherapy room that gets in between -70 and -90 degrees. Once an initial body temperature is taken, players step inside the chamber and must fight the cold for a certain amount of time.
The atmosphere inside the chamber even produces snow flurries to give a simulation of how cold it is.

After a session of hitting, running, performing at high speed and exhausting energy, the cold tub and cryotherapy is an opportunity to for players to relax and heal. The athletic trainers, strength staff and medical staff for the Crimson Tide want to assure athletes that their bodies are in good hands at the program.
With these upscale methods, Alabama has remained healthy through fall practice.
