Although it has not been to the same impact of last season, Alabama has still head to weather the injury bug through the mid part of the season.
During his Wednesday press conference head coach, Nick Saban was able to provide a few updates on the likes of LaBryan Ray, Deonte Brown and Ronald Williams.
Ray has been dealing with an elbow injury which has kept him out of the Crimson Tide’s past two games against Georgia and Tennessee. Although Saban said that he is questionable for Saturday, he mentioned that it may be best to hold him out to fully heal so the injury does not fester.
“LaBryan is probably questionable for this game,” Saban said. “I think to get him right and get him well, it probably would be much better for us to just wait until after this bye week. He’s been out there, he’s practiced, but he continues to have issues and problems, so we just need to shut him down and get healed up so this is not gonna be a problem in the future.”
In terms of the status of Brown, who was taken out of the Tennessee game as a precaution, appears to be full speed ahead to play against Mississippi State. Saban didn’t give confirmation as to if he would play but said he had practiced every day this week.
Williams has been a forgotten member of Alabama’s injured list for he suffered a broken arm back during fall camp and had been sidelined ever since.
But Saban was able to share that the JUCO commit has been back at practice.
“He’s been practicing for the last two weeks, didn’t go to Tennessee because he was sick,” Saban said. “Would’ve gone. He’s feeling more comfortable using his arm. He’s been healed, he’s been cleared.”
