Seeing its 17-game home winning streak snapped Saturday night was difficult enough, but more troubling news has surfaced for Alabama football. Sophomore wide receiver Robert Foster injured his shoulder in the first half, attempting to catch a deep ball from Jake Coker.
Foster landed awkwardly on his right shoulder as he was battling a Rebels defensive back for the ball. He was taken to the locker room afterwards, and returned with his shoulder in a sling.
The report per Matt Zenitz of AL.com, is that Foster has a torn rotator and will miss the rest of the season. The sophomore was just starting to emerge as Alabama’s primary target before the injury. He’s caught 10 passes for 116 yards with two touchdowns.
More than likely, Coker will now look to Richard Mullaney, ArDarius Stewart, Calvin Ridley and O.J. Howard to pick up the slack. Foster enrolled at Alabama in 2013 as a five-star prospect.
