Jalston Fowler blocked for some of the greatest running back in college football history during his time with the Crimson Tide. Now with the Tennessee Titans Fowler is getting the chance to be a feature back on offense.

Fowler has only rushed five times for 12 yards, but now that he is in the NFL Fowler’s size has come in very handy in goal line situations. This past Sunday Fowler rushed for his first career NFL touchdown.

Fowler rushed into the end zone from 1 yard out with 47 seconds left in the Titans’ game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Following that rush Fowler has a very scary moment on the 2-point conversion run.

The Colts stacked up for Fowler at the line of scrimmage. With the game on the line, Fowler tried to bounce wide, but ended up being tackled 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and was brought down awkwardly with his leg planted in the ground.

This could has been an area of concern for the Titans because of a previous knee injury that Fowler suffered in 2012. Fowler tore his ACL and even contemplated quitting football all together but after thinking it out, Fowler returned to the program the following year.

There were reports from the Titans’ locker room after the game that the injury was not serious. Fowler even told reporters himself that he was “good”.

Despite the injury scare and a tough loss at home to a divisional opponent the Titans have to like the progression that the young fullback is making in only his third NFL game.
