Alabama’s 2021 4-Star quarterback commit, Drake Maye, has been a special player to watch this season as he has racked up 35 passing touchdowns and 2,265 passing yards through nine games.
Maye has yet to throw an interception and has also completed 75 percent of his passes. Maye told Touchdown Alabama, he was working on multiple parts of his game before the season started.
“I am always working on footwork, accuracy and recognizing fronts and coverages,” Maye said, “You can never get enough work on those things.”
Alabama got a verbal commitment from Maye in July. The 2021 prospect weighed several factors before he announced his decision.
“The main factors that played a major part in my decision were are they a football school? Does my style fit into the offense? Do I have a good relationship with the quarterback coach and offensive coordinator? Does the head coach believe in me?” Maye said.
With Alabama’s 2020 5-Star quarterback commit, Bryce Young, having a nice season as well, the future looks bright for the Tide’s quarterback room.
