The University of Alabama football program has a new Consensus All-American of the Nick Saban era.

Dallas Turner, an outside linebacker, joins a lineage of Crimson Tide players as an All-American.

Three selectors chose the junior from South Florida as a first-team All-American selection.

Turner was recognized by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), Associated Press (AP), and Sporting News (SN) as a first-team All-American. He watched Will Anderson Jr. become the first player in school history to be a two-time Unanimous All-American and two-time team captain. Turner was voted a team captain by his peers and turned in a great season.

He anchored Alabama's defense in sacks (nine), tackles for loss (13.5), and quarterback hurries (13). Turner also had two forced fumbles and a pass breakup to help the Tide win a Southeastern Conference Championship. He has the Tide back in the College Football Playoff after missing last season. Turner earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year for his efforts this season.

He now prepares to face Michigan in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day.
