Alabama football fans and Minnesota Vikings fans are mourning right now.

Khyree Jackson, a former Crimson Tide defensive back, died Friday night in an auto accident.

The 24-year-old was selected in the fourth round of this recent NFL Draft by the Vikings. Jackson, a Maryland native, spent his final college football season at the University of Oregon in 2023. He made first-team All-Pac-12 for his efforts in recording 34 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, seven pass breakups, and a team-high three interceptions. Jackson's former high school coach at Wise High School and his agent confirmed his death. He played for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide from 2021 to 2022.

Jackson helped the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in 2021. He was on Alabama's Allstate Sugar Bowl Championship team in the 2022 season.

Jackson's former college teammates and the Vikings' organization is taking this time to honor him.
