It’s week three of NFL preseason, but college football fans still get excited when former Alabama and LSU players meet up. The dream was fulfilled Sunday night as Oakland took Arizona, pitting wide receiver Amari Cooper and cornerback Patrick Peterson head-to-head.
The former Alabama standout was smooth, catching four passes 62 yards.
He created separation from Peterson on a few routes, leaving him to bite the dust. Cooper was targeted nine times and averaged 15.5 yards per catch. He is expected to be the primary receiver for Raiders’ second-year quarterback Derek Carr’s primary receiver. Oakland lost to Arizona 23-30, but at least Cooper was able to get the best of a four-time Pro Bowl corner.
